Product Identification
Toray Membrane USA, Inc. manufactures a wide assortment of reverse osmosis
elements for the US, Canada, Central America and South American markets.
Nomenclature
The initial letters (TM) stand for Toray Membrane, which are used to distinguish
the flush-ended design, common to most membrane manufacturers, from the
Toray Industries (SU) products, which have external connectors between
elements.
Brackish model numbers: Following (TM) will be a 7 which
denotes brackish membrane chemistry followed by the metric equivalent
of 4-inch or 8-inch diameter (i.e.
720 indicates an eight-inch diameter brackish element). Finally the element
active area is added in square feet. For example, a complete brackish
8-inch element model number is TM720-430.
Seawater model numbers: The seawater chemistry is denoted by the number
8. Therefore, a complete seawater 8-inch model number is TM820-400.
Low-pressure brackish model numbers: The letter G designates
our low-pressure membrane. A complete low-pressure 8-inch brackish element
model number is
TMG20-430.
Low-fouling brackish model numbers: The letter L designates
our low-fouling membrane. A complete low-fouling 8-inch brackish element
model is TML20-370.
High pressure seawater model numbers: The letter "H" or "B"
designate our high pressure seawater elements. The "H" or "B"
follow the standard seawater indication nomenclature.
A complete high pressure seawater model number would be TM820H-370 or
TM820B-370.
High boron rejection seawater elements are designated by the letter "C"
(ie. TM820C-400)
Low energy seawater elements are designated by the leter "E"
(ie. TM820E-400)
